Work where the standard is the point.
SHADO is built on the people who hold the post, write the report and make the call at three in the morning. First posting or twenty years of service — the work is taken seriously here.

An organisation that runs on its values.
We assess before we deploy, and hold the same standard from the gate to the boardroom.
You are deployed to a plan, not just to a post
Every site begins with an assessment. You are told what your post is for and what you are expected to notice, so the work has a reason behind it.
Training and supervision are part of the job
Induction and refresher training are built into the way we deploy. Supervision is there to correct and support you, not only to catch you out.
Your work is recorded and it counts
Registers, reports and drill results are kept properly. That paperwork is what lets good performance be recognised rather than assumed.
One standard, from guard to consultant
The same expectations of honesty, turnout and reporting apply at every level. Nobody is exempt because of rank or role.
A structure that will feel familiar
Clear chain of command, written orders, briefings and handovers. If you have served, you will recognise how this operation is run.
Careers, not just placements
Guards become head guards, then supervisors, then officers. We would rather promote someone who knows the site than bring in a stranger.
A veteran-led company, by design.
SHADO was founded by a Military Intelligence veteran of the Indian Army. That is why the company is organised the way it is, and why a service record is read here with real understanding.

Your service record is understood, not guessed at
Trade, appointment, unit and the responsibility you actually carried mean something to the people reading your application. You will not have to translate your career into civilian terms before anyone takes it seriously.
The skills transfer directly
Duty discipline, briefing and debriefing, reporting, weapon handling, drill instruction, signals and operations-room work all map onto roles we deploy for every day.
There is a route beyond the gate
Ex-servicemen and ex-police personnel move into supervision, site command, training and investigations. A service background is a starting point here, not a ceiling.
Widows and dependants are welcome to apply
Applications from ex-servicemen's families are read with the same seriousness, for field and office roles alike.
Two tracks. One standard.
We recruit continuously across both tracks. Open any role to see what it involves.
Field & uniformed roles
Posted, supervised and accountable roles on client premises. These are the people a client sees every day, and the standard they hold is the standard SHADO is judged by.

Not seeing your role? Apply anyway and choose the general application option on the form. Applications are kept on file and read against new requirements as they come up.
Five stages, and you will know where you stand.
Recruitment is on merit. We never charge candidates a fee — if anyone asks you for money, tell us.
Application
Send the form on this page. Tell us the role you are after, where you can work and what you have done — that is enough to start.
Screening Call
A short conversation about your experience, the role, shift patterns and where you are available to be posted.
Assessment
Field roles are assessed on fitness, turnout, alertness and basic drill. Professional roles are assessed on judgement, a written exercise and an interview.
Verification
Identity, address, education, employment and personal record are verified, and role-specific licences are checked, before any offer is confirmed.
Induction
Induction training on conduct, reporting, emergency procedure and the specific site SOP before you take charge of a post.
Six things we weigh above everything else.
Experience helps and qualifications help, but these are the qualities that decide whether someone succeeds here — in a uniform or at a desk.
Reliability
You turn up, on time, in the right turnout, on the days you said you would. In this line of work that single quality outranks almost everything else.
Honest reporting
You write down what actually happened — including the part that reflects badly on you. An inconvenient fact reported early is worth more than a tidy report.
Alertness
You notice what has changed: the vehicle that does not belong, the door that is normally locked, the person who is not behaving like a visitor.
Conduct
You are courteous with client staff and firm with anyone who should not be there, and you can tell which situation you are in.
Confidentiality
What you see on a client site stays on that client site. This applies as much to a guard at the gate as to an investigator on a case.
Willingness to learn
You accept correction, attend the training and improve. We would rather hire someone coachable than someone who already knows everything.
Send us your details. A person will read them.
Two minutes. Tell us the role, where you can work and what you have done.
A few practical things.
There is no file upload on this form. Send the form first, then email your CV or service documents to the address below quoting the same name and the role you applied for, and the two will be put together.
If the role you want is not listed, apply anyway and choose the general application option. We recruit continuously across both tracks, and applications are kept on file for future requirements.
Applications are read by our team, not by an automated filter. If your experience does not fit the role you chose but fits another, we will tell you.
Security. Intelligence. Assurance.
